We sat down with InC Auto Repair Center shop co-owner Sheryl Brown to learn more about how she got into the business of automotive and truck repairs. We were curious about what inspired her to get into this industry and what she loves about it. Here’s Part 1.
Q: It’s a bit unusual to have a woman in the lead at an auto repair shop. Did you grow up around family or friends who worked on cars/trucks/jeeps? Or did this interest develop through other life experiences? In short: what inspired you to work in this industry?
Sheryl Brown
After 25 years in the advertising and marketing industry I needed a change. My brother, Marc Zandell, has a shop on the edge of downtown Denver (Golden Triangle Auto Care). Marc brought me into his Denver shop to do some part time work. I fell in love with the process and the atmosphere. After leaving that shop, I became partners in a shop closer to home. As I worked to grow that business , my love for the industry solidified. Especially helping customers in keeping their family vehicles safe on the road.
During that time I met the most amazing group of people in the off-road world. That has become a passion for me both in business and personally. I love 4 wheeling and became enthralled with suspension, tires and upgrades that you can do to jeeps to climb rocks and still be stable. I absolutely love my yellow Tinkerbell. Be sure and check it out on your next visit, it’s usually in the InC Auto Repair Center parking lot. Whenever a customer comes into our shop with an idea for how to trick out their 4-wheel toys, we are all in and love helping them bring their vision to a reality.
We hope you enjoy our series of conversations with Sheryl Brown, of InC Auto Repair Center located in the Cottonwood Shopping Center, Parker, Colorado, along with her crew members Ron Thrall, John Baranski, and Michael Reed.
